Vivaldi Reigns in Seoul This Month

This past weekend, Sejong Soloists, the premier conductor-less ensemble whose fans include Hilary Rodham Clinton, celebrated its 15th anniversary with a vivacious rendition of ``The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.’’ In addition to Astor Piazzolla’s take on Vivaldi’s famous seasonal song, the original work by Vivaldi and other floral inspirations of the Baroque period will continue lightening up the new season.

The Korea Chamber Orchestra is the oldest ensemble of its kind in the country and will participate in more European music festivals through 2011. Founded in 2002, Musica Glorifica has been introducing unfamiliar period pieces to the local classical music scene, including the Korean premiere of early 17th-century Italian songs, French court music and various cantatas. They have also released albums in Japan.
